Why We Love It

This collection of floral pressings in this Herbarium are from a young woman around 1896. Each flower has a paper ‘folder’: the front of the folder a place to fill out all the information about the specimen and the specimen resides inside the folder. Many of the plants are common and I’m inspired by their beauty shining through over 100 years later.

Three pages are fill out, however the inside is empty as the specimen was never collected. Nevertheless, the handwriting is beautiful.
